I was really excited to test the kink switch because of the quality that I hear about. The top tube size is a little bit small for me but I loved how the responsive head tangle felt when riding skate parks. Unboxing this bike I found the two nylon pegs and was able to put them on and grind right away. When I did more advanced tricks, it felt really solid and I wasn't worried about anything breaking. The only complaint I have is these heavy Kink sever tires. They slowed me down and didn't have a high psi max.

The Kink Switch is a high-quality BMX bike that weighs 27.9 pounds and costs $599. This BMX bike is designed for street riding, featuring a full chromoly construction and comes with a free coaster, two pegs, zero hub guards, and double wall rims. Overall, it’s a great bike for a good price. In this post, we will help you figure out if it’s right for you or not.

Is the Kink Switch high quality?

Yes, I would consider the king switch a high-quality bike. It has 4130 chromoly in all of the important places. It has double wall rims, and it really is designed well. Most brands described their bike as a high-quality bike if it has a teeny tiny bit of chromoly, but the king switch is all chromoly making it a lot better.

This bike’s quality is evident in its robust construction and components, making it a solid choice for riders looking for a durable, street-ready BMX bike.

How does the Kink Switch look?

The Kink Switch boasts a sleek, gloss gravity gray color that looks super cool and stands out among other BMX bikes. Its style is both modern and functional, making it a real head-turner at the skatepark or on the street.

I’m not a huge fan of the color way this year, but it definitely is unique. I think it’s very bold of kink to design such a flashy color and make it the only option.

Is the Kink Switch overpriced?

$600 is a lot of money to spend on a BMX bike, but that does not mean that it’s overpriced. For this level of quality, pegs, and a free coaster, getting this for $600 is a steal. There was a period of time there where the kink switch was $649 and at this price is slightly overpriced. But now that it’s back down in the $600 price range it’s definitely a good deal.

While it’s not cheap, the quality and features justify the cost. Plus, considering its upgrade potential, it’s a solid investment for serious BMX riders.

What are the best features of the Kink Switch?

The Kink Switch shines with its full chromoly frame, free coaster for sick fakie tricks, and the two nylon pegs for grinding. It’s fully upgradable, making it a versatile choice for riders who like to customize their rides.

What makes it stand out is its design geared towards street riding, thanks to its responsive geometry and overall build quality that supports technical riding.

Feature Description
Full Chromoly Construction Durable and lightweight, ideal for street BMX.
Free Coaster Allows for cool fakie tricks without pedaling backwards.
Nylon Pegs Two pegs included for grinding.
Customizability Fully upgradable components for personal customization.

Honest Thoughts

Like I mentioned earlier when the king switch was $650 I wasn’t all that impressed. But for $599, getting this level quality with a free coaster and double wall rims is a really good deal. You could buy this bike and you wouldn’t really need to upgrade anything else for a while.

Some of the downsides include the fact that it’s only available in one size and I’m not a fan of the kinks sever tires. they just don’t grip very well and they weigh a ton. But aside from that I think the responsive and durable kink switch is a good option for most people who fit the size recommendation.
