No, the Kink Gap free coaster is not technically high-quality. It’s made from a blend of weak hi-tensile steel, and a little bit of chromoly. the lower quality parts on this bike, bring down the overall quality score. It’s more of a beginner to mid-level quality bike.

This bike’s frame is made with a combination of chromoly and high tensile steel, which isn’t the best for durability. The front end of the bike is more durable than the back end, which is made of weaker materials.

I definitely appreciate the fact that this bike is under $500 and it comes with a free coaster. The next bike in king lineup that has a free coaster is the king switch and it cost about $600. If it wasn’t for the free coaster however, I wouldn’t be as hyped on this bike. It doesn’t have great quality and if you’re looking at a bike in just a value perspective, it would be better to spend a little bit more money and buy the kink whip instead of the kink gap. But the kink whip does not have a free coaster and so that’s why I’m stressing. If you really want a free coaster this is the cheapest free coaster BMX bike you can buy.
