The king cloud has a 21 inch top tube, which is a good size for me. It felt really nice when I first got on it and I was happy with the four pegs because I could grind right away. I scratched up the hubs because this bike does not come with any hub guards and I got caught on one of the ledges because there wasn't a hub guard. Aside from all that the bike did handle really well and it had a good blend of responsive and mellow geometry. It felt very neutral when ripping through the bowl at the skate park.

The Kink Cloud is a high-quality BMX bike that weighs 27 pounds and costs $799. This bike, is Travis Hughes signature model, and it isn’t built around a signature frame but boasts a collection of aftermarket parts, making it pretty sick. In this post, we’re gonna dive deep and help you figure out if it’s the right fit for you or if it’s just too much dough for what you get.

Is the Kink Cloud high quality?

Yes, the Kink Cloud is one of the highest quality bikes in kinks lineup this year. It has all of the components that make a high-quality bike and everything included on this bike should last a pretty long time.

From its frame to the forks and handlebars, everything screams durability and strength, perfect for serious riders or those a bit on the heavier side.

Not only are the main components great, but it has a handful of aftermarket parts that really stand out from the other bikes in Kinks lineup.

How does the Kink Cloud look?

The Kink Cloud’s style is as awesome as its performance. With a matte iridescent black colorway, it stands out without screaming for attention. It’s like the stealth mode of BMX bikes—cool, understated, but ready to show off when it counts.

I think this is a good color option choice for Kink to include. If you’re only going to make one variation of a certain model, I think it’s a good idea to make it one that’s pretty basic. Most brands shy away purchases because they make their models too flashy.

Is the Kink Cloud overpriced?

No, I don’t think the kink cloud is overpriced. But it’s pretty close. For this price tag, you’ll expect to see a good amount of aftermarket parts. One thing that was disappointing was the way that kink worded their description on this bike. It was a little bit misleading, and it made users think that the frame on this bike was the true aftermarket, kink cloud frame.

If this bike was only $750 and included the aftermarket cloud frame, it would be a complete steel. I feel like the marketing was done this way on purpose but what do I know. All I know is that it has aftermarket Kink Rex handlebars and a chromoly frame with chromoly forks.

Considering the quality of the parts and the fact it comes with some sick aftermarket components, it’s priced fairly. However, it’s in a weird spot where for a bit more, you could grab something even higher end.

What are the best features of the Kink Cloud?

The best features? Where do I start? Full chromoly everything, aftermarket bars, sprocket, and stem, plus it comes with four nylon pegs. It’s built for the streets and parks, making it super versatile.

What makes it stand out is its blend of quality and style. It’s not just any BMX bike; it’s a Travis Hughes signature ride, which is pretty cool.

Honest thoughts

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it; the Kink Cloud is a solid bike, but it’s not for everyone. It’s high-quality, looks sick, and rides smooth, but the price is up there. For some, it’ll be perfect, but for others, there might be better options for the cash. Depending on what you ultimately want to purchase for your new bike, the kink cloud could be the right option.

But it’s in this weird spot where you can spend a couple hundred dollars more and get five times better quality, or spend a couple hundred dollars less and get slightly less quality. This bike is a step above the other models in kinks lineup but it’s not very many steps above. It’s a nice looking bike with good quality. You just have to decide if you want to settle at this price point or if you want to spend a little more and get something better.

If you have the kink cloud, I invite you to go to the bottom of this page and leave a honest review. I pick one reviewer every single month and send them $20 just for leaving a review.
