The Sunday Darkwave is the highest quality Sunday BMX bike in 2024. Has a full chromoly frame, full chromoly forks, handlebars, 48 spline cranks, welded double wall, rims, and so much more. One thing that makes this bike one of the best Sunday, BMX bikes this year is the lifetime warranty that’s included on most of the parts.
The Sunday darkwave scores a 10 out of 10 in quality. The reason that it scores this high is due to the aftermarket quality parts, many of which include a 41 thermal lifetime warranty. So not only are the parts strong enough to last an experience writer, a long time, if you do break any of the parts you’ll get it replaced for free. Now that’s a good deal.
If you went online and ordered all of the parts for the bike separately and built a custom BMX bike it would cost you close to $1500. You can buy the darkwave for much less than that.
Quality aside, this is a great bike for riding street. It has 4 pegs, a freecoaster, and a taller geometry that boasts control and stability.

Sunday soundwave is coming in at second place. The quality is very similar to the Sunday dark wave but it’s just missing a few of the same aftermarket parts. Most of this bike is aftermarket quality and it still has parts with the 41 thermal lifetime warranty. The quality is almost identical, but the Sunday soundwave only scores at 9.76 out of 10.
The Sunday soundwave is a well-rounded bike. It’s going to be good for riders who want to ride a little bit of street, a little bit of skate park, and a little bit of dirt jumps. Unlike the dark wave, it doesn’t come with any pegs or other street specific components.
The way that I like to think of it is that you can buy this bike and then make small upgrades to make it better for whatever style of riding you like to do. And if you like to do all three… even better. The cool thing about BMX is you can ride whatever you want however you want and you don’t have to let anyone tell you otherwise.
In 2023, the Sunday soundwave was no longer the Gary Young signature model. this change eliminated many of the options that you would find in 2022. Ultimately, I think this was a good move for the Sunday soundwave because now you know exactly what you’re getting when you buy it.
My favorite thing about the Sunday soundwave is the low weight. It has incredibly high-quality parts that also don’t wave very much so this bike is only 23.9 pounds. Making this one of the lightest complete BMX bikes ever.

The third Place bike is the Sunday wavelength. This year this is the Gary Young signature model. Last year the Sunday soundwave was the Gary Young signature model. The Sunday wavelength is all new in 2023, and there are no previous versions of it. I was really excited to get together a review on this bike since it is brand new and there’s a lot to talk about.
First off, the wavelength scores, the same in quality as the Sunday soundwave. The Sunday Wavelength scores a 9.76 out of 10. This is because of the high-level aftermarket parts that are found on it. the Sunday wavelength, has a 41 thermal lifetime warranty. The lifetime warranty provides peace of mind so that if anything breaks or you have any issues with the bike, you can get a replacement.
I always score bikes that have a warranty much higher than Bikes that don’t. For you the bike buyer, it’s important to buy a bike and be confident that you’re gonna love it and that it’s gonna last. I get so upset when I see these companies sell junkie bikes with no promises and no accountability. Sunday doesn’t do that. They always make sure that the customer loves the bike.
If you’re planning to ride street or park on the Sunday wavelength, you might want to look elsewhere. The wavelength has an incredibly long and stable geometry. That’s identical to the geometry that Gary Young rides on his BMX bike. That stable geometry gives it a lot of control at high speeds, making it a good bike for riding dirt jumps. I guess if you have the same style as Gary Young, you could ride it at the skate parks and still have a lot of fun.
It’s an expensive bike that comes with great aftermarket parts and tons of other components. It’s totally worth the cost if this is a perfect bike for you.

If you can get past the bright purple color, the Sunday street sweeper could be a really high-quality bike for you. It has an aftermarket frame, and some other high-quality chromoly parts. This bike scores significantly less than the Sunday darkwave, soundwave, wavelength, and that’s because it doesn’t have parts with the 41 thermal lifetime warranty, and not all the parts are aftermarket quality.
The quality score of the Sunday Street sweeper is a 7.38 out of 10. Which is a pretty impressive score, considering not all of the parts are aftermarket quality. It gets a lot of bonus points for having an aftermarket quality. And like I talked about in my review, getting that level of quality for under $1000 is incredible.
When I really think about the level of quality that the Sunday street sweeper offers, I’m impressed. For most mid-level riders this is going to be enough quality to last them for a long time. And for beginner level riders it’s really gonna last a long time. I think the buying your bike is an important milestone and you should definitely buy a bike that has high-quality that will last.
The geometry on this bike is designed to be a little bit more responsive and snappy. When I tested it out, it felt good in the skate parks and also when riding street. It has a free coaster but you’re going to have to buy the pegs separately if you would like to grind.

The Sunday EX comes in at number five for the highest quality Sunday BMX bike. The Sunday EX scores a 6.67 out of 10 because of the full chromoly frame found on the bike. It also has chromoly handlebars and potentially double wall rims. this bike has a good blend of quality and price. It’s fairly affordable while still offering good quality.
My favorite thing about the Sunday EX is the value of it. When I’m reviewing Bikes, I’m always looking for the best value BMX bike so that a rider can get into BMX without spending a ton of money. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bikes out there that are expensive and offer low quality. The Sunday EX is not one of them.
It is on the more expensive side but it’s not overpriced. There’s similar bikes for the same price and the same level of quality and the parts on this bike are built to last. With a 6.67 quality score you can comfortably ride it as long as you are not a super high-level rider.
Many people choose something like the Sunday EX, because they appreciate the premium feel of the bike. When you pull this bike out of the box, it’s gonna look and feel really nice, and riding it just feels like a dream. When you put that level of attention to detail into a bike with a full chromoly frame and bars, you get something really special.
